The Colibri Refugee Committee

In line with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) goal of enrolling 15% of refugees in higher education by 2030, members of the Grenoble university community have been working since 2015 to integrate individuals in exile—students, prospective students, and scientists—into the academic environment. The Colibri welcome desk and its various initiatives are the realization of this effort.

The Refugee Committee, decision-making body of the project

Its members work together to enable:

- discussions on topics related to welcoming refugees in order to improve practices;
- the implementation of joint actions and projects;
- the validation of policy requests related to this reception;
- a joint response to calls for tenders;
- raising awareness of the topic within the university community (students, teachers, researchers, and all administrative and technical staff);
- liaising with local, regional, national, and international institutions.
