Funding and social assistance

There are certain forms of assistance that exiled individuals can apply for to reduce their costs when returning to education.

Funding and social assistance

Social criteria scholarships

To qualify, you must:
- fill out the Student Social File from March to May during the year preceding your enrollment at the university;
- benefit from international protection (refugee, temporary protection, subsidiary protection, or stateless person);
- Be enrolled in either a program leading to a national degree (DUT, BTS, Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate, etc.) or in the University Diploma (DU) "Passerelle-Etudiants en exil" (Bridge Program for Students in Exile).

Depending on the situation, a scholarship recipient may receive a predefined amount of money each month. The CROUS Grenoble Alpes analyzes the Student Social File and decides whether or not to award a scholarship to students.

One-time assistance from the CROUS social services department

If you are a student and have not obtained housing or a scholarship through the standard procedure, you can ask the CROUS social services department to review your file for request one-time assistance.
This assistance may be in the form of cash or credit on the IZLY card (for eating in CROUS restaurants and cafeterias).

To put together a case, you have to prove that you are having difficulties finding housing, food, or the right equipment to study, or getting help with your health...
An appointment is required.

The social worker analyzes the file, then an evaluation committee decides whether or not to grant one-time assistance.
Applications can be made throughout the year, several times a year. Each time, you must demonstrate that the need is genuine.
