Since 2011, Europe has seen an increasing number of people fleeing their countries. Through our actions to help people in exile, we hope to contribute in our own small way to mitigating the effects of a global humanitarian crisis.
Committed institutions
The Grenoble academic community wanted to adapt in order to fulfill its public service mission to a population with numerous and specific constraints and needs. All measures to facilitate access to higher education received the support of the presidents and directors of the member institutions of EPE Université Grenoble Alpes.
Our actions are aimed in particular at simplify access to information and procedures specific to individuals wishing to pursue higher education at the Grenoble site. They also aim to protect scientists who are in danger in their own countries and enable them to continue their research work at our research institutions. Finally, we coordinate a set of support measures specific.
Exemption from registration fees
In 2015, institutions in Grenoble voted to waive tuition fees for students andauditos who qualify for the following statuses :
refugee
beneficiary of subsidiary protection
stateless
asylum seeker
Upon proof of status, these students are exempt from registration fees.
The Colibri Reception Area
In person, by phone, and by email, he assists individuals who qualify for the statuses listed above.
He provides support in a wide range of areas, both to alleviate the daily difficulties associated with these individuals' highly precarious situations and to answer questions about training, level recognition, and integration into the job market.
It also coordinates a range of actions and services within and between institutions:
He coordinatesprofessional development workshops (CV workshops, cover letter workshops, job interview preparation, etc.) through the Career Center of the UGA's Career Guidance and Professional Integration Department.
It provides management and monitoring data (number of registrants, training courses taken (level, discipline, success rate)) to enable us to develop our support services with increasingly tailored responses.

Do one's part
One day, according to Native American legend, there was a huge forest fire. All the animals were terrified and devastated, watching the disaster helplessly. Only the little hummingbird was busy, fetching a few drops of water in its beak to throw on the fire.
After a while, the armadillo, annoyed by this futile effort, said to him:
"Hummingbird! Are you crazy?
"You're not going to put out the fire with those drops of water!"
And the hummingbird replied:
"I know, but I'm doing my part."
We wanted our work with people in exile to reflect this.
