Since 2016, the University Center for French Studies (CUEF) in Grenoble has been offering the DU PASS program, a university diploma for students in exile. This intensive course in French language, French culture, and academic methodology aims to enable students who have been forced to interrupt their previous studies to return to university in France.
In 2021-2022, 14 of the 19 students in the DU PASS class enrolled in higher education after completing the program, including one who went on to complete another semester in the University Diploma in French Studies at CUEF. Currently, 28 students make up the class of 2022-2023 and are in the process of applying for graduate school.
Exceptionally, the workforce is larger than in previous years due to a measure put in place following the arrival of Ukrainian refugees, a measure that will not, however, be renewed for the year 2023-2024.
The filing of applications to join the DU Pass for the 2023-2024 academic year opens on April 17 and closes on May 19, 2023. Applications must be sent to the CUEF in Grenoble and a French placement test must be taken (level B1 is required). The first selection is based on the application, followed by oral interviews between June 5 and 9.
