Université Grenoble Alpes, whose registered office is located at 621 avenue centrale 38400 Saint-Martin-d'Hères, in its capacity as data controller, undertakes to ensure that the processing of personal data carried out on the websites and intranets it hosts complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.

We use various cookies to measure audience numbers and integrate services that improve the interactivity of the site.

• Essential cookies: these cookies are essential for the website to function properly: Tarteaucitron allows you to store your consent choices, which are kept for 6 months.
• Audience measurement cookies: we use the Matomo audience measurement tool, a French tool that collects and analyzes your data related to your visit to our site for the purpose of continuously improving the information provided. The Matomo tool allows the collected data to be hosted locally on a university server.  Matomo does not transmit personal data to third parties. It installs cookies, which are text files placed on your computer that collect personal data used solely to provide statistical data on traffic (number of pages viewed, number of visits, visitor activity on the site, and frequency of return visits).

Your connection data: When you browse theUniversité Grenoble Alpes websites and intranet, we collect personal information about you, such as the date, time of connection and/or browsing, browser type, browser language, and your IP address (stored for 36 months).

• _pk_id: used to store your unique visitor ID (if Matomo audience measurement is active), retained for 13 months
• _pk_ses: allows temporary storage of your visit data (if Matomo audience measurement is active), kept for 30 minutes

You can choose to prevent Matomo from setting cookies before using this site. You can also partially or completely disable the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser.
 
Third-party cookies: these are cookies used by third parties, such as social networks and audio-video platforms. You can refuse these cookies when visiting our websites.

2. How do we use the data we collect?

We use the data we collect to:

• Analyzing your browsing on our websites with Matomo on the legal basis of consent
• Providing social media access features on the legal basis of consent

3. Who are the recipients of the data we collect?

• The recipients of your data are the communications and IT departments, as well as authorized personnel atUniversité Grenoble Alpes.  
• Our subcontractor, Tarte au Citron, has access to data regarding the acceptance and rejection of cookies on our websites.
  • In accordance with current regulations, data may be transmitted to the competent authorities upon request in the event of an investigation into the perpetrators of crimes committed on the internet.
  • Your data may be collected by third parties (social networks and video platforms) for their own purposes, in accordance with their privacy policies.Université Grenoble Alpes control over these third-party cookies.

4. How long do we keep your data?

Your data is retained for the period necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this policy, in accordance with applicable legislation:

• The data used to respond to your requests from the forms is kept for the time necessary to process your request and for a maximum period of one year.
• Connection and browsing data are legally retained for 36 months.
• The retention periods for Matomo cookies are indicated in the paragraph above entitled "Audience measurement cookies."  

5. How is your data protected?

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access or modification, disclosure, loss, or destruction of your data.
