In 2015, the Métro became a member of the European Network of Solidarity Cities (Réseau des villes solidaires). It is mobilized by its expertise in housing, employment and integration.

Created in September 2017, this very active network brings together higher education establishments, associations, as well as public and private organizations that develop voluntarist policies concerning the reception of displaced students and researchers. To this day, more than 40 French universities are members of the network. The UGA was one of the first institutions to become a member and approve its Charter, committing the UGA to the fulfilment of the network’s objectives. An international network of establishments and members in higher education that strives to protect scientists in danger, prevent attacks on education and promote academic freedom and its fundamental values. Its head office is located in New York University. The UGA has been a member of this network since 2017.
