Doing Our Part
As told by the Indigenous legend, “The Flight of the Hummingbird”, there was once an immense forest fire. All the animals, terrified and dismayed, helplessly looked on. It was only the little hummingbird that sprung to action and hurried, searching for droplets of water with its beak to put out the fire.
After some time, the armadillo, agitated, said:
“Hummingbird! Are you mad? You can’t put out that fire!”
And the hummingbird responded:
“I know, but at least I am doing my part.”
We hope to follow in the hummingbird’s footsteps through our work with displaced persons.
